Skitouring

Freeride

Unlike traditional piste skiing, Freeriding is a style of skiing performed on natural, ungroomed terrain, without a set course, goals or rules. Freeriding is also often referred as “backcountry”, “sidecountry”, or “off-piste” skiing, and sometimes “big mountain” or “extreme” riding.

Freeriding incorporates various aspects of skiing into a style that adapts to the variations and challenges of natural, off-piste terrain, and eschews man-made features such as jumps, rails, half-pipes, or groomed snow.

Cat & Heli-skiing in Bakhmaro

Bakhmaro is a remote catskiing destination in western Georgia, set at 2,050 meters above sea level and known for its deep, light powder snow, which can reach up to three meters during the four-month winter season. Surrounded by mountains and influenced by moist air from the Black Sea, the area offers excellent freeride and ski touring terrain across open slopes and forested sections of pine and fir. With no ski lifts or modern infrastructure, access is mainly by snowcat, ski-doo, or helicopter, making it ideal for off-piste enthusiasts seeking untouched landscapes. The terrain allows skiing in various weather conditions, while combined cat-skiing and heli-skiing options provide flexibility and access to more remote lines.
